Did you know that there are twenty-three (23) streets where vehicles and can enter and exit the Borough? That's a lot of traffic! Driver's have many choices how to get across or through town. Our streets are mainly "collector" or "local" roads, which are classes that describe how busy a street is. It's common for drivers who don't live in our neighborhoods to "cut-through" our local streets on their way to their destinations. Common examples are North Olive Street, Ridge Road, 3rd Street, Jefferson Street and Monroe Streets. Driver's should be aware that these streets feature homes that make up our small-town character. It's common to see strollers, bicycles, joggers, pedestrians and children playing throughout these neighborhoods. When crossing town, our major-collector streets are Baltimore Avenue, Providence Road and Orange Street. The next time you are out and about, ask yourself: "Do I need to cut-through neighborhoods, or can I use the major streets for getting through Media? Be careful out there!
