Our Transportation Committee supports the safe, legal and efficient movement of vehicles, pedestrians, vendors and both bicycles and E-Bikes.
There are laws that govern different classes of Bicycles, E-Bikes, and motorized devices in Pennsylvania, we recommend becoming familiar and education yourself with the rules, which can be found here:
E-Scooters are not street legal in Pennsylvania; there are no outlined rules for riding the devices. In July Senator Tim Kearney announced plans to introduce “Abby’s Law” which is named in honor of Abigail Gillon, a 12-year-old girl who tragically passed after an e-scooter accident in Aston. Currently, riding electric scooters is generally limited to private property.
Remember, anyone under the age of 12 must wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.
Please join us in sharing our values: Safety, Health & Wellness, Education of Rules & Laws, and the Protection of our Pedestrians, Residents and especially our Children.
