A few weeks ago the department responded to a report of a gas odor inside of a building. An odor was noticed and gas readings were obtained. While waiting for the gas company to arrive, the firefighters were told that the residents had been smelling an odor of gas for a few days. PLEASE call the Fire Department if you smell gas. There have been numerous incidents where an unreported gas leak has led to explosions and fires. We can check for the source of the leak and have the gas company notified to respond to help mitigate the problem.
