On March 17th, Judge Dozor signed the settlement agreement and, as a result, the former litigation between Borough of Media, County of Delaware, and Broomall’s Lake Country Club is officially “settled, discontinued and ended.” This means that the Borough is no longer legally-bound to design and construct the West 3rd Street Dam. Significant time and financial resources from the general fund were contributed by Media Borough to finalize the settlement agreement.
“We are grateful to Delaware County Council for working on an agreement among all parties. We are also grateful for the tireless work of Borough staff and community advocates who helped get us here today”, said Media Borough Council President Brian Hall. “We look forward to exploring our options and moving towards a solution that will be best for Media.”
Stay tuned in the coming months as Borough Council considers its options for a future Third Street project with the approval of various state agencies, such as PennDOT and the PA Department of Environmental Protection, and in consultation with various partners, such as Delaware County government.
