Meet the Mayor

I’m Joi Washington and I am proud to be your new Mayor of Media! Media has been my home for over a decade, and I love everything that makes it special—our walkability, strong sense of community, and thriving local businesses. During my time as a Borough Councilwoman, I’ve worked to improve our parks, added new sidewalks and a traffic roundabout, supported small businesses, and kept our town welcoming. As Mayor, I’ll continue advocating for these values, pedestrian safety, public transportation, and sustainability while supporting our police and strengthening community relationships. I’ll also champion the events that make Media such a vibrant place to live, visit, and dine on State Street. Learning from Former Mayor Bob McMahon has been a great experience. He is still a great example for leaders to learn how to build relationships with residents, public safety officials and small businesses. Media is special, and I want to keep it that way while making sure we grow in ways that benefit everyone. I can’t wait to start working for the community!
