Media Borough has over 110 intersections, that’s over 400 Stop Signs! We also have thirteen (13) signalized intersections and two schools zones! What a busy place!
Most of those intersections have crosswalks, where pedestrians and vehicles use the same areas. From time to pedestrians decide to cross at mid-blocks, without making use of the dedicated crosswalks.
To add the traffic, Pedestrians frequently are focused on hand held devices such as phone or tablets! How dangerous!
If you are a pedestrian, please stop and look both ways before crossing the streets...and use the crosswalks. YOUR PHONE HAS “OFF” BUTTON! USE IT! If everyone is distracted then who is paying attention?
If you are driving, please be mindful that pedestrians are not always aware of your vehicle and slow down and proceed with caution.
Both pedestrians and drivers are responsible for safe streets! Be care out there!
