[ARCHIVED] Congratulations John McCormick

John McCormick - Cheif of Police

Media Borough and the Media Police Department congratulate John McCormick on his promotion to Chief of Police. Chief McCormick has spent his entire career in Media and has been an officer in the Media Police Department for 23 years. John was promoted to Sergeant in 2019 and Lieutenant in 2023. In addition to his role in the Media Police Department, Chief McCormick is also the assistant in command of the Central Delaware County SWAT Team.

With John’s long standing career in Media, he has built many relationships in the community and with his fellow officers. He is very proud of the team he has been a part of and looks forward to continuing to raise the bar working as a team.

Chief McCormick holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of Delaware County Police Academy. He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is currently enrolled in the FBI’s Command Leadership Program, LEEDA.

When Chief McCormick is not working, he enjoys time with his children and boating on the Chesapeake.
