Design for Heritage Park at 5th & Broomall

Media volunteers met monthly in late 2017 and early 2018 to share ideas and shape the design of a neighborhood park to be built at the corner of 5th and Broomall Streets. The lot for the park was purchased by the Borough in spring of 2017, with the help of a generous grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). The Borough hired landscape architect Tom Fein of NV5 to work with the park committee to fashion a design plan based on their ideas.  Further funding from DCNR  enabled the borough to complete the design. Construction was completed 2021. The park was named and dedicated Heritage Park, in honor of the contributions of the long-standing Black community in Media Borough.
